McCain Compares Running Mate to Obama
Republican presidential nominee John McCain picked the governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin to be his running mate, surprising the public. According to political analysts, McCain obviously chose her because of her gender. Doubts have surfaced on whether she is qualified enough to be vice president as she has no foreign policy experience and has been in politics for only 12 years. McCain countered critics by pointing out that Obama has been in politics for only 12 years as well and is not ready for the presidency. Regardless of who wins in November, analysts believe that the outcome will be historic as Obama may become the first black president or Palin may become the first female vice president.

US Dollar Strengthens Against Euro
The US dollar has posted its biggest monthly advance against the Euro since the European currency’s 1999 debut. It is now evident that the economic weakness that began in the U.S. has spread worldwide. The US dollar climbed 6.3 percent to $1.4571 per euro on August 29 from $1.5603 on July 31.
